USS Constellation
22-Gun, Sloop-of-War, Built in 1854
The Last Surviving Ship of the Civil War, and the last all sail powered warship built by the US Navy. She is 176' long with a beam of 42', and draws 21' of water, manned by 240 officers and men. The Constellation is still in existence, she is 150 years old, and can be visited at the Baltimore Inner Harbor where she is docked.
This model is scratch built, plank-on-frame construction, scaled at 1/96, and made out of cherry wood. The ship is 33'' long x 26'' high x 11'' wide.
