Bristol Society of Model & Experimental Engs

The Bristol Society of Model and Experimental Engineers (BSMEE) exists to promote the development of the wider Model Engineering hobby by providing support and encouragement to interested people to construct and operate models of an engineering nature. The Bristol Society was founded in 1909 and is one of the oldest in the country. It currently has some 250 members who between them cover many trades, professions and backgrounds. Many of the successful modellers have not had any formal engineering training, but have been encouraged and supported by fellow members to develop their interest. Many of the skills required to undertake Model Engineering can be self taught but, by belonging to a society or club there is always help and knowledge freely available. Cambridge Model Aircraft Club

A small club catering for all disciplines in model aircraft. Cambridge Model Aircraft Club (CMAC) was formed in the 1940′s, has been an active club ever since and is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association (BMFA). Luton & District Model Boat Club

Peterborough Area Radio Control Society

Peterborough Area Radio Control Society, or PARCS for short, has been in existence since 1947 and is dedicated to the sport of radio controlled model flying. We operate on three sites in Peterborough: The Eastern Embankment, Peakirk and RAF Wittering. Our club rooms are at The Pavilion, Potters Way, Peterborough, where we meet on the first Friday of every month throughout the year.


Portsmouth and District Model Flying Club

PADMAC is believed to be one of the oldest model flying clubs in the Portsmouth area. We fly fixed wing model aircraft (power, electric and silent flight) from a 20 acre field with a mown take off and landing strip. The site has good vehicle access 365 days a year. The South Midlands Soaring Association (SMSA) is a club for radio control model glider pilots. The majority of the activities for the club are slope soaring, and silent flight. We fly a large range of models including scale models, fully moulded aerobatic models, EPP and built up balsa thermal soarers. Our flying sites are at the Burton Dassett Hills Country Park and Sun Rising Hill, Warwickshire. The Club is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association.

Southampton Soaring Society


St Angelo Model Flying Club

St Angelo Model Flying Club is based at Enniskillen Airport, St Angelo about 3 miles from Enniskillen town, Co Fermanagh, N Ireland. It has a membership of approx 25 members from all parts of Ireland. The club caters for Radio Control powered planes and Helicopters.


St Neots Model Flying club

The club averages an annual membership of approx 80 and has 2 flying sites for use by the members with a third, dedicated heli site on the way for 2007. The sites have no abnormal flying times restrictions imposed on them and are kept in very good order by a dedicated group of volunteer grass cutters during the summer months. The club holds competitions and events throughout the year, these tend to be low key, fun events without too much serious competition. The Scale competition, although held on an in club basis is possibly the exception to this in that the standard of models presented can be very high. Recently we have been holding a number of Spad Combat events.
