There are a number of camera threads used for tripod mounts, lens mounts and a shutter release.
C-Mount
CCD camera lens connector thread 1″-32UN2A with a standard focal distance of 17.526mm.
A C-mount lenses can be used in CS-mount configurations with a 5mm adapter.
CS-Mount
CCD camera lens connector thread 1″-32UN2A with a standard focal distance of 12.5mm.
Leica L-mount or M39 Lens Mount
Also known as the Leica L-Mount. This is 39mm x 26tpi
M42 Lens Mount
This is a metric 42×1.0mm thread used for single reflex cameras before the bayonet couplings became commonplace.
Shutter Release
European form is American Standard Thread 5-44 adapted for taper. The tapered threads are 50 TPI and tapered down at 14 degrees 20 minutes from a maximum diameter of 0.156″
Tripod Mounts
The thread on tripod mounts is 1/4″-20 UNC, which is the smaller more common size.
For larger cameras the 3/8″-16 UNC thread is used.
